Welcome to Children’s Outreach Ministries! We hope you find our website helpful and informative when deciding upon a quality childcare program. COM is a licensed childcare center through the West Virginia Department of Health and Human Resources. We are also inspected and registered with the State Fire Marshall, Putnam County Health Department, and Department of Education, Office of Child Nutrition.

The Children’s Outreach Ministries encompass the Early Education and School Age Programs. These programs operate as non-profit programs through Forrest Burdette Memorial United Methodist Church under the direct governance of the Children’s Outreach Ministries Board of Directors.
The Children’s Outreach Ministries programs are licensed by the State of West Virginia, meeting the health and safety standards as required by the West Virginia Department of Health and Human Services and the State Licensing Board. Our licensing capacity is for 155 children. We have liability insurance through a local agency. The Children Outreach Ministries does not provide medical coverage.
This facility is operated on a non-discriminatory basis, and the practice of this policy is demonstrated through equal treatment in regard to race, color, creed, religion, sex, national origin, and age or marital status of parents. If a child with extenuating circumstances or needing special care wishes to enter the program, his/her case will be decided at the discretion of the Program Director. Depending on the particular situation, it may be referred to the Children’s Outreach Ministries Board of Directors.

At our Traditional Services we sing praise through hymns accompanied by our piano or pipe organ.
At this service we lean more toward a more contemporary style of worship with our very own Praise Band “Quilts & Ferns” led by Jayné Kirk.
TEACHER: Don Gatewood or Warren Falkner
A Sunday Evening worship service lead by Rev. Don Gatewood or Rev. Warren Falkner that meets most Sundays in the Chapel located on the right side of the Narthex. This one hour informal service led by Rev. Don Gatewood or Rev. Warren Falkner. Enjoy singing familiar, favorite hymns of the congregation throughout the year. The informal atmosphere is a great option for those who appreciate a Sunday evening service as well as those whose schedules are busy on Sunday morning. This service is often cancelled if church wide ministries or events are scheduled on Sunday evenings. At the present time, child care is not provided.
TIME: 5:00PM – 6:00PM
Dinner is served! Reservations may be made the week before, on the preceding Sunday, or up to noon Monday through the church office. Adults $6, Children (under 12) $5; no family pays more than $20.
TIME: 6:30PM – 7:30PM
GRADE: Preschool (Ages 2+), K-2nd grade, 3rd-5th grade.
WEDNESDAY COOL KIDS
Wednesday COOL Kids is a time of fun, music, and growing! Jump into “Living Inside Out” where kids learn how the Bible can help them every day.
In Kids Choir, children learn songs and praise God through music.
TIME: 6:30PM – 8:00PM
GRADES: 6th – 12th grade
Youth meets on Wednesdays in the basement of the church to hang out, make friends, eat snacks, play games. We worship God through music, God’s word, and through small groups.
