The Stewards of Fellowship is a long-standing Sunday School class here at Forrest Burette. Our focus is to share the Good News of Jesus Christ in a “family” atmosphere as we study The Word, share our joys and concerns and reach out in ministry.

As a “family” on the journey, we share moments of laughter, tears, encouragement and devotion.

Our recent studies include the Cokesbury Quarterly, the Ray Vander Laan series as well as other books and video series. We always focus on class participation and we value the time of sharing. We always focus on class participation and we value the time of sharing.

The Stewards of Fellowship encompasses a variety of ages and is sincerely open to all who would come. We meet in room 111… on the first floor. As an old hotel advertisement once said … “We’ll leave the light on for ya”.

Loyal Pioneers
TIME: Sunday, 9:45-10:45
HOSTS: Sam Sentelle and Scott Krall
LOCATION: Chapel

The Loyal Pioneers traces its origin at Forrest Burdette back to 1952, when it was called the Wesley Pioneers, and later merged with the Loyal Service class and became the Loyal Pioneers. Today, the class welcomes anyone seeking a Sunday School class made up of mature Bible students of all ages.

The Loyal Pioneers engages in an ongoing critical study of the Scriptures, looking at the historical context, translation, transmission, and contemporary interpretation of the Word of God. The Pioneers use a quarterly Adult Bible Studies curriculum which presents stimulating lessons that explore the biblical message and how to apply it to daily life. The class moves from a focus on the Word to reflection on personal, family, church, and community concerns.

Over the years members of the class have found lifelong friends and they are always a source for prayer, visitation, and concern for each other in times of need.

Fellowship opportunities of the class include an annual summer picnic and the class is always well represented in most church activities.

Contact Jack Gibson (562-5372) for more information.

HOST: John Simmons
